Preclinical Findings • MRSA has developed resistance to many, if not all, of the existing drugs available for treatment. • ALS - 4 employs a non - antibiotic approach designed to act on a unique therapeutic target to inhibit production of staphyloxanthin, which distinguishes it from other current treatments. • Studies have shown that staphyloxanthin is an important factor in enabling MRSA bacteria to escape from the immune system. • ALS - 4 has been developed to inhibit production of staphyloxanthin without killing the bacteria, which should enable the immune system to clear MRSA. • Current Development Status: Lead Optimization and Ph 1 and in preparation for IND filing.
